Well Fall has officially arrived in Central PA, the temperature was a chilly 48 degrees outside this morning. Brrr! Our agenda for Saturday morning was pretty much the same as every other Saturday morning, breakfast, cleaning, workouts.
First up, breakfast. Kyle requested scrambled eggs for breakfast so I made a nice pan of fluffy scrambled eggs. I enjoyed my eggs on a toasted whole wheat sandwich thin with a slice of American cheese with half of a juicy pear on the side. I had gulped down my mug of pumpkin spice coffee first thing in the morning so no picture of that with breakfast.
After breakfast was all cleaned up it was time to start our weekly house cleaning. Every week Kyle and I clean the house from top to bottom, he does the first floor and the basement while I take care of the second floor (including the bathrooms…ugh). As much as I HATE cleaning it is nice to have a clean house when it’s all over. I just wish someone would do all the scrubbing and vacuuming for me.
Workouts were next on the agenda this morning. I had a back and biceps workout on my schedule this morning along with a little cardio at the end. Kyle is my trainer and does a great job of planning the exercises I’m going to do and helping me with my form. There are times during our workouts that I want to strangle him because I think he is pushing me too hard but I know he is pushing me so I can see the results I want.
After working out I typically gulp down a protein shake. Today I wanted to use some of the leftover canned pumpkin I had in the fridge to make a tasty pumpkin protein smoothie.
In the mix:
- 1 scoop vanilla ice cream protein powder
- 2 heaping spoonfuls of Chobini plain Greek yogurt
- 2 heaping spoonfuls of canned pumpkin
- several glugs of unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- couple shakes of cinnamon
- couple shakes of pumpkin pie spice
- 1 packet splenda
I combined all of the above in the blended and voila…delicious pumpkin protein smoothie. It tasted just like pumpkin pie! I see many more of these smoothies in my future!!
Plans for the remainder of this gorgeous Fall Saturday include a wedding of some very close friends, Matt & Chantelle and then some college football tonight…FIGHT ON USC!
Enjoy the remainder of your Saturday!!
