Loving the Warmth

The weather today was gorgeous!  All the snow is melted and we can actually see grass!!  Since the weather was so nice today we took advantage of the last few hours of daylight after school today and played outside.

I can’t wait for Spring!!  I’m ready to open the windows and have fresh air blow through the house.  I’m ready to get the kids outside for playtime!  Tomorrow is finally Friday –yeah!! We have no exciting plans for the weekend – other than getting my car inspected – AGAIN.  I’ll save that story to another time.

Getting Better

The girls are on the mend!  They stayed home from school today but I’m pretty sure they will be going back tomorrow!  Last night was rough…they each woke up a few times during the night.  Needless to say I was running on fumes (and caffeine) today. 

We had another relaxing day at home watching movies and napping – the girls didn’t even get out of their pajamas until bath time, then they went straight into a fresh set.  Sounds like a good day to me.  I managed to get quite a bit of work done at home today.  I will be going back into the office tomorrow (for the morning at least).

In other news, my new self-hosted blog is almost ready!! I have had lots of fun playing with WordPress plugins and Window Live Writer plugins!  I anticipate the theme will be ready soon as well.  I can’t wait for the big reveal!

Sick Day

My poor little babies are sick.  Sad smile  I got a call around 10:30 from the girls’ school saying that Ry-Ry had a fever and wasn’t participating in class or playing with any of the kids or toys.  I gathered my things and headed to pick up my little girls.  Fortunately for me, I have the ability to work productively at home so I made sure too grab enough work to keep me busy for the afternoon.

To be honest, I’m not that surprised I got “the call” today.  Yesterday when I picked the girls up from school, Kay-Kay had a fever and passed out on the couch at 7 for the night.  She woke up fine this morning so I thought we would be okay…guess not. 

After picking the girls today up we came home and I got them comfy on the couch for some movie time.  Movie time quickly turned into this…

Poor Ry-Ry was passed out in 5 minutes.  She managed to get some good rest for most of the afternoon.  Kay-Kay took a nice nap on the couch too.

Kay-Kay was feeling much better this evening but poor Ry-Ry still had a fever and was really wiped out.  I’m hoping a good nights sleep tonight will make them both feel better.  I will probably have to keep them home from school tomorrow but we will play it by ear in the morning. 

I’m really hoping not to catch what they have!!!

Not Feeling It

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Hope everyone had a great day with their special someone!  I bought the girls little gift bags with Valentine’s treats and had them waiting for them this morning.  They were so excited!!  They each got a new book, a workbook, and some candy.

Today’s scheduled workout was a treadmill session…I was not feeling it.  After getting home from work and putting my workout clothes on I was hoping to get motivated.  I made dinner and checked my e-mail before heading to the basement for my run. 

Once I got started I totally got into it!! I had some great music pumping through my IPod that I instantly got sucked into the music and powered through a quick 20 minute run!  I am so happy that I gave it a shot because I felt totally awesome afterwards!!

How do you convince yourself to workout on days you aren’t motivated?

  • Breakfast – protein pancakes with nectarine, blueberries and syrup

Arooga’s

By the time Saturday night rolls around I usually have no desire to cook.  Some of our Saturday meals are quick and easy meals gathered from items found in our freezer or leftovers, sometimes pizza, and sometimes we go out to eat. 

Tonight we decided to go to Arooga’s, a local sports bar.  It’s nice and loud so we don’t have to worry about keeping the kids quiet and there are TV’s EVERYWHERE so there is plenty to distract them while we wait for our food. 

We had a great meal and I was able to snap some great pictures of the girls after we finished eating.

Winds of Change

Exciting things have been happening around here!! I have been doing a lot of reading and researching and I finally decided that I am going to make the transition to self-hosting my blog!  There are two main reasons for my decision – the ability to have commenters notified via e-mail of responses to comments and the ability to customize my blog. 

I really, really wanted to be able to let readers know when I (or someone else) respond to their comments!  I know how much I enjoy those e-mails saying that a comment I left on a blog has a new reply, I want the readers of my blog to feel that same excitement.

I’m still working on some of the details and behind the scenes stuff but I hope to have the switch made in the next two weeks!  Keep your eyes peeled for the official announcement – you will need to update your Google Readers and re-subscribe to my feeds. 

I’m still learning so much about blogging and can’t wait to keep improving my blog.  Stay tuned for the big reveal!!

Not Quite Myself

It’s finally Thursday…my work week is over, although I will probably end up working from home tomorrow since I’ve got lots and lots of work to do!  I’m looking forward to a relaxing day tomorrow!

I’m not quite feeling like myself tonight.  After staying up late last night to watch the UNC/Duke basketball game Crying face  I knew that I would be tired today.    What I didn’t count on was the PMS and the sore throat!  I know, TMI…but these cramps are killing me! 

I really hope I’m not getting sick!!  I have a little bit of a sore throat and that usually ends up being a precursor to a cold Sad smile  Right now I’m drinking some tea with honey in hopes that the warm liquids will help my throat.  I’m also going to bed nice and early so I can get plenty of rest! 

What do you do when you are starting to feel sick?  I’m willing to try anything to not get sick!
